Merrillville Police Pursuit Ends In Highland
A police pursuit initiated by Merrillville Police Department ended in Highland shortly after 2am Saturday morning. Officers from multiple agencies including Indiana State Police, Gary, Highland, Lake County Sheriff, Griffith, and Merrillville converged near Ridge & Liable after a red Challenger they were pursuing for a suspect with a gun threatening another person crashed into a cement barrier. Speeds at one time reached over 100mph on Ridge. The chase came from Merrillville to NB I-65, then to Westbound Ridge Road where he crashed near the Travel Hut. One suspect was taken into custody and transported back to Merrillville PD. A gun and spent shell casings were recovered in the vehicle.
