Building Collapse In Downtown Hobart

Hobart Fire & Police responded to a structural failure early Saturday morning around 2am near 3rd & Center at Rudy Pavletic’s Karate / Hobart Karate building (517 E. 3rd St.) Witnesses reported hearing a loud bang noise before coming out to see the building partially collapsed.

Hobart Fire Department Assistant Fire Chief John Reitz stated a secondary collapse is likely. 3rd street is closed downtown for the time being.

  1. This time last year there was a sink hole in the alleyway in this exact spot.
    If an explosion didn’t cause this maybe that sink hole has opened up again

  3. Karma. For wat Rudy did to me in 1975. Pull me off a school bus put me in your car. Cracked me with a chop to the chest. Drop me off at the end of my block saying now I no where u live kid. You know I’m speaking the truth rudy.
