Larry Eugene Tindall, 68, of Lake Station, is facing charges after police say a girl reported he sexually abused her over a period of years, beginning when she was a child and continuing into her teenage years.

According to court documents, the investigation began on August 9, 2025, after the girl’s mother contacted police when the girl disclosed a history of abuse. Court records state the alleged acts occurred between June 15, 2018, and July 4, 2025, at Tindall’s home in Lake Station.

Police said the girl reported the inappropriate contact began when she was a child and escalated over time while she was staying overnight at Tindall’s home, where he lived with her maternal aunt.

Court documents state the girl reported the abuse occurred when she was between 11 and 13 years old and continued into her teenage years. She told investigators the incidents occurred on multiple occasions as she got older, and that Tindall told her that once she turned 18, everything would be “ok.”

According to the affidavit, the most recent incident was reported to have occurred on July 4, 2025, during a family gathering at the residence.

Court documents state Tindall denied the allegations but told police the girl “had a crush” on him and claimed she told him that when she turned 18 they could live together. Police said Tindall also acknowledged he went into his bedroom during the July 4, 2025 gathering and stated the girl may have followed him there. According to the affidavit, he declined to submit to a polygraph or voice stress test without an attorney.

Lodged in the Lake County Jail.
