Boyd addressed the large crowd and announced the accomplishments and highlights of the agency during 2019. He also outlined the agency goals for 2020. During the meeting, several employees were recognized and awarded for acts of bravery, life-saving actions and for going above and beyond the call of duty.

Jeanne Crosslin, Jail Administrative Coordinator, was responsible for making these transitions occur. She was recognized for her detail, work ethic and enthusiasm. For all her efforts, Mrs. Crosslin was presented with Chief Deputy Ron Heeg’s “Hard Hat” award. The “Hard Hat” award is given to a division or employee of the Sheriff’s Office who performs to an exceptional level.
Sheriff Boyd stated, “Undoubtedly, several lives were saved by the efforts of these deputies. Their dedication to serve others inevitably made an impact on many individuals and families throughout La Porte County. I publicly thank these deputies for their steadfast commitment and service.”
