Marc A. Bolden, 49, of Chicago, is facing multiple felony charges in Lake Superior Court after an East Chicago Police Department drug investigation allegedly linked him to cocaine sales and the possession of cocaine with intent to deliver.

According to court documents, investigators received information that Bolden was distributing cocaine from an apartment on Tod Avenue in East Chicago. During the investigation, police documented multiple incidents in which cocaine was allegedly sold from the residence. The investigation resulted in the recovery of approximately 1.3 grams and 2.2 grams of cocaine that field-tested positive for the drug.

According to court documents, investigators later obtained a search warrant for the apartment. Prior to executing the warrant on May 27, 2026, police arranged to meet with Bolden in the 1500 block of East Columbus Drive in East Chicago. As officers moved in to make the arrest, Bolden allegedly placed the vehicle in reverse before stopping after commands from law enforcement.

Police reported locating 13 individually packaged baggies containing approximately 3 grams of cocaine on Bolden’s person. Investigators also recovered approximately 0.9 grams of marijuana from the vehicle. During the execution of the search warrant, police reported finding additional marijuana, cocaine, digital scales, sandwich baggies, and a razor blade inside a bedroom associated with Bolden.

Court documents state Bolden admitted possessing the cocaine and later admitted to selling crack cocaine during an interview with investigators. Records reviewed by investigators also indicated Bolden had a prior Lake County conviction for dealing cocaine in 2020.

Lodged in the Lake County Jail.
