Another Carjacking In Hammond Leads To Shooting At Lansing Walmart
On January 23rd, at approximately 5:30 PM, Hammond police responded to Star Liquors located in the 1200 block of Chicago Avenue in reference to a carjacking, according to Lt. Steve Kellogg of The Hammond Police.
Officers spoke with the victim who stated that he was in his 2015 Audi in the parking lot when two black male suspects approached him and took his vehicle and left the area.
Hammond police now have information that this vehicle is the same one that has been located and involved in additional crimes in Lansing. Highland Police have added that their robbery victim from 5 PM is believed to have been these men as well.
RNS was on scene at the Lansing Walmart located at 17625 Torrence Ave where multiple people were shot in a rolled over Audi from the Hammond carjacking. It’s unclear at this time how many were shot all together but at least two were transported while we were on scene. The Audi was rolled over with bullet holes in the windshield. One male was at the rolled over Audi shot and another was found in WalMart shot.
We will update on this unfolding incident when Lansing Police provide a statement.
