Beggars Pizza In Lansing Planning To Restore Iconic Organ

Lansing, Illinois – Beggars Pizza, a cherished dining establishment in Lansing, is thrilled to announce the ongoing restoration of the iconic 1927 Barton Theater Pipe Organ.

Originally hailing from the Oriental Theater in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, this historical musical treasure found its home at the Lans building in 1984 when it became the centerpiece of the renowned “Pipes and Pizza” restaurant.

The 1927 Barton Theater Pipe Organ, with its rich history of providing enchanting melodies and accompaniments to customers as they eat, is now set to be lovingly revitalized to its former glory. Beggars Pizza has embarked on an ambitious restoration project to ensure the enduring legacy of this cultural gem.

Christian Schoop pictured below playing the organ is leading the restoration project for Beggars. Donations will soon be accepted to assist in bringing this piece of history back to life. A drop box will be added at the establishment near the pick up counter for donations.

The restoration project will have expert craftsmen and organ specialists aimed at preserving every nuance of this magnificent instrument. From sourcing rare components to meticulously recreating missing parts, every detail is being attended to with precision and care, Schoop said.
