Boil Advisory Issued In Dyer

Update – Sunday 11AM The Boil Advisory has been lifted per the water test results.

Due to a severe water main break on Main Street the Town of Dyer is issuing a precautionary Water Boil Advisory, effective immediately.

The reason for the Advisory was a loss of system pressure as a result having to replace a section of the supply main from Highland.  The Town will be taking samples and are hopeful the Advisory will be lifted sometime this weekend.

The Town’s water system receives it treated from the City of Hammond through the Town of Highland.  Chlorination of water is done at the Hammond Treatment Plant and again if necessary at the Dyer pumping station on Calumet Ave.  You are advised to boil your water for consumption for one minute.  It is safe to bath in The Town of Dyer advised.
