Bomb Threat At Valpo High Found False
During the afternoon lunches at Valparaiso High School, students were overheard discussing a potential bomb threat within the school, Commander Hall of The Valparaiso Police said in a release Friday. School staff and law enforcement were immediately notified by those students who had heard the comments and an investigation ensued. The students were quickly identified and spoken with, Hall stated. The threat was found to have no credibility and the students admitted to be joking about any such action. School officials and the Valparaiso Police Department are confident the school is safe for normal operations.
These types of threats are always taken very seriously by police and the overall safety of staff and students is the primary concern. Please remember to educate your children about the dangers of making any such statements regarding school violence. Also remind them to report any such actions to school and police au- thorities if they are made aware of a potential harmful situation. We will continue to work with the Valparaiso Public Schools to ensure a safe environment for our students to learn, Hall said. Thank you those who came forward with information regarding this incident, your cooperation and dedication to your community is appreciated, Hall stated.
