Calumet City Police Investigating Shooting
Shortly after 9pm Saturday Calumet City Police received numerous calls for shots fired in the area of Wentworth & Ruth. Shotspotter also picked up gunfire in the area. While investigating the shots fired call police learned of a gun shot victim at Franciscan Hammond who drove themself to the ER. While police responded to the hospital they noticed the victims car was also leaking fuel from being shot. Hammond Fire Department responded to the lot for a wash down because of the fuel. Calumet City Police found numerous shell casings in the street on Wentworth from two separate calibers of guns. The victims condition is unknown at this time but police are following up on some good leads according to sources close to the investigation.
