Cedar Lake Medics Deliver Baby In Snowstorm
Cedar Lake Fire Department Medics delivered a baby at 4AM Tuesday morning in the snowstorm, according to Cedar Lake Fire Chief Todd Wilkening. When medics arrived the mother’s water had just broke, so medics performed the complete delivery on scene.
“The mother and baby girl are doing great, and our department is very excited to be a part of this new life,” Wilkening said. Crews also responded to many bad calls through the storm as well, but this helped make a very rough 24 hours of calls better.
Wilkening thanked the Police officers that helped with getting equipment in and out as well as The Public Works for helping them on calls all night getting through the snow.
