Chicago Man Dies After State Line Gas Station Shooting

On Sunday, June 25th, at approximately 2:00 AM, Hammond Police received a call of shots fired at the Luke’s Gas Station located at 5105 Stateline Ave. 

Upon arrival, officers spoke with witnesses who stated that there were several shots fired in the parking lot, but everyone had fled the area.

Officers were still investigating the call when they were contacted by the Chicago Police Dept. about a male that had come into a hospital in their city and died from a sustained gunshot wound. This male was identified as 33-year-old Ronnie Martin from Chicago. Detectives believe that Martin was a passenger in an involved vehicle when shot at the Luke’s gas station.
