Child Shot In Calumet City
A shooting Friday in Calumet City left a 12 year old rushed to a local trauma center and one vehicle struck that was driving down the street.
Around 8:30pm Friday multiple shots rang out near Memorial Drive & Douglas Ave in Calumet City. A child was found with a gun shot wound to the head. The victims condition is not known at this time. One vehicle was also hit by the gunfire and they drove into Hammond to seek safety from the gunfire at Strack & Van Til’s. Witnesses described hearing over 20 shots. Calumet City Police were not immediately available for comment Friday.
