Deceased Subject Found At Brush Fire Saturday In Portage Township
Fire Crews fighting a brush fire Saturday in Porter County near County Line Road & 600N discovered a deceased subject.
Porter County Sheriff’s Department responded around 3PM to Portage Township after the subject was discovered. The body was located near railroad the railroad tracks where police could be seen investigating.
The Porter County Coroner has released the decedent is a male but any further information will be released after an autopsy. The identity of the subject will be released pending notification of family. Cause of death was not available Saturday but there is no threat to the public according to officials.
