Domestic Dispute Leads To Stab Wound In Valpo
Domestic Dispute Leads To Stab Wound
Shortly before 5 PM, Sunday, Valparaiso Police & Fire responded to the 200 block of Sturdy Road in reference to a female who requested an ambulance and hung up on dispatchers, according to a police report.
On arrival of officers it was learned a male subject had been stabbed in the leg during a domestic dispute that had rekindled numerous times during the day. The argument is believed to have started over a money issue and video game system that was later found broken.
A 22 year old female now identified as Raqelle Morris, 22, of Valpo admitted to stabbing her boyfriend with a kitchen knife in the leg during the dispute when police arrived. Neither realized during the knife swinging that it actually cut the male until he felt something warm on his leg which ended up being blood. The cut was deep enough that they didn’t think they would make it to the hospital on their own so she called 911. While waiting for the ambulance to get there she did attempt to stop the bleeding by pouring Dusse, a liquor, into the wound and applying pressure.
Raqelle has since been charged with Level 5 Felony Domestic Battery with a Deadly Weapon and Level 6 Felony Criminal Recklessness with a Deadly Weapon.
