Domestic Incident Turns Fatal After Shooting
On December 27, 2020 at 5:43 am, Calumet City Police and EMS Personnel responded to the 100 block of Oglesby for a female lying on the floor of an apartment, according to Calumet City Officials.
Officers arrived on scene and located Pamela L. Burns, 45, of Calumet City, who was found deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.
A few hours later, the female roommate of the victim was taken into custody by Merrillville Police. It should be noted she called the police and turned herself in. Today, Calumet City Police secured a warrant to extradite the suspect to Illinois and are continuing their investigation. No formal charges have been filed as of Monday.
Calumet City Police stresses that this was an isolated incident and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
