Early 50’s Roadster Flips Seriously Injuring Driver
Around 11:00 PM, on July 9, 2022, a report of a single motor vehicle crash occurred on Calumet Avenue just north of Johnson Drive in Liberty Township, according to Liberty Township Fire Officials.
Late-night passerby traffic in the area stated the occupant was still in the vehicle as it rested on its roof. An early 1950’s era roadster traveling South on Calumet Avenue ended with the driver being trapped inside and extricated out of the vehicle by firefighters.
The driver was transported to an area hospital for serious life-threatening injuries by ground ambulance and later flown by Air Ambulance to Chicago.
The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Porter County Sheriff Department.
