East Chicago Man Arrested After Running From State Police

Friday morning, March 4th, 2022, at approximately 1:10 AM, Indiana State Troopers Israel Rosillo and Joshua Luckey observed a silver 2006 Chevrolet Impala traveling north on Indianapolis Boulevard near US 20 at a high rate of speed, according to Trooper James Brasseur.

The troopers were able to catch up to the vehicle and observed additional traffic violations, including failing to stop at multiple stop signs. The troopers attempted to initiate a traffic stop on 149th Street, just west of Magoun Avenue, where the vehicle failed to stop and a vehicle pursuit was initiated. The vehicle continued west on 149th Street, failing to stop at multiple stop signs and increasing its speed. The vehicle then turned north into an alley between Walsh and White Oak Avenue where the driver fled from the vehicle on foot. The driver failed to place the vehicle in park before fleeing which resulted in the vehicle colliding with a garage located in the 4800 block of Walsh Avenue.

Following a brief foot pursuit, Troopers Rosillo and Luckey were able to catch up to the suspect and take him into custody without further incident. The driver was identified as Aarin Patrick Davidson, 23, of East Chicago. Mr. Davidson was transported to the Lake County Jail and was preliminarily charged with the following:

  • Resisting Law Enforcement with a vehicle – Level 6 Felony
  • Resisting Law Enforcement – Class A Misdemeanor
  • Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Crash – Class B Misdemeanor
  • Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Ever Having Received a License – Class C Misdemeanor
  • Reckless Driving – Class C Misdemeanor
  • Refusal to Identify – Class C Misdemeanor

Additionally, Mr. Davidson was found to have three active warrants for the following charges:

  • False Statement in the Purchase of a Firearm
  • Robbery
  • Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Ever Having Received a License

Troopers on-scene were assisted by East Chicago Police Department, Lake County Sheriff’s Department, East Chicago EMS and Caruthers Towing.

All subjects are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
