East Chicago Police Investigating Double Homicide

On Tuesday, 11/16/2021, at approximately 4:55 p.m. East Chicago Police were dispatched to 3901 Pulaski Street Apt 1B in reference to a possible homicide, according to Deputy Chief Jose Rivera. 

When Officers arrived on scene they met with the individual who initially called 911. He advised responding Officers that he came to 3901 Pulaski Street to check and see if his friend wanted to hang out. When he entered the residence he found his friend dead in the living room. He stated he immediately exited the apartment and called 911. 

Officers entered the apartment and located a male victim in the living room lying on a mattress. The male subject was unresponsive and had a gunshot wound to the head and left forearm. Officers continued to search the apartment and located a 2nd victim in the rear bedroom of the apartment. He was also unresponsive and also appeared to have suffered a gunshot wound to the head. 

Victim #1 was identified as 29 year old Jamal D. Loving of 3901 Pulaski Street. Victim #2 was identified as 38 year old Harold Richardson of East Chicago. Both victims were pronounced deceased on scene by the Lake County Coroner’s Office. This incident marks East Chicago’s tenth homicide this year.
