Female Shot In Oak Knoll Apartments In Gary
Lake County Sheriff’s Office and Gary Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Monday afternoon in the Oak Knoll Apartments in Gary.
Lake County High Crime Units were in the area when they heard numerous shots fired. HCU began to search the area and found a female shot in the street near W. 23rd Ct. The female is in good condition at this time with one shot to her leg. Officers were able to get a description of a possible offender car when they arrived in the complex.
Lake County Sheriff Officers were able to locate a car matching the description of the suspect near 23rd & Clark in Gary. Officers made a stop on the vehicle immediately and one person of interest was taking into custody as well as a weapon that matches the caliber found at the crime scene.
