Four Charged With Armed Robbery After Holding Woman For Stimulus Check

On April 19, 2020 at approximately 5:51 AM, a female victim reported to the Lake Station Police Department that she was held against her will at her home on the 2700 block of Dearborn Street for four hours by four men she knew, according to Lake Station Police. The female reported that the four men entered her house at 1:30 AM, which awoke her, police told RNS. The female reported that one of the men immediately grabbed her phone to keep her from calling the police. The female victim told police that one of the men had a gun during the incident. She reported that the men wanted money from a stimulus check she received and the men were aware that she had recently received it, police said. The men eventually left, and told her not to go anywhere, because they would be back. The female reported that once she was sure they left; she drove to the police station to report the crime. A Detective was called to investigate further and officers were able to locate all four men. Police took them into custody and the four men were charged with:

Level 2 Felony Burglary

Level 3 Felony Armed Robbery

Level 3 Felony Criminal Confinement

Level 4 Felony Burglary

Level 6 Felony Residential Entry
