Hammond Bank Robbed Wednesday
On September 16th, at approximately 3:55 p.m., Hammond police were dispatched to First Midwest Bank located around 6611 Kennedy Ave. in reference to a bank robbery, according to Lt. Steve Kellogg of The Hammond Police.
Witnesses stated that a suspect entered the bank, displayed a handgun, and demanded money. The suspect was described as a black male in his early 40’s, approximately 6’1” wearing a fluorescent yellow safety vest, tan pants, a white long sleeve t-shirt, and a tan colored fishing hat. The suspect fled the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. No one was injured in the incident, Hammond Police said.
