Hammond Police Investigating Shots Fired
Shortly after 8:30pm Hammond Police responded to a shots fired call on 175th & Walnut. On arrival police found at least one parked vehicle that had been shot near the corner. At least 4 bullet holes could be seen on the vehicle. Police could be seen marking numerous shell casings on Walnut just North of 175th. Two witness told RNS on scene they heard 12-16 shots fired off quickly. Police are currently on scene as of 9:15pm looking for anything else that could possibly be hit in the area.
This shooting comes a week after a woman was shot in the foot while sitting in her house during a drive by on the same corner, March 7th.
