Hammond Police Make Three More Arrests For Murder
On April 2, 2020, three individuals were taken into custody for the October 22, 2019 murder of Quinten D. Kendrick-Taylor in the 1300 block of Liberty Court, Lt. Steve Kellogg of The Hammond Police announced. The Hammond Police Department would like to thank the U.S. Marshal’s Great Lakes Regional Task Force and the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force for their critical assistance in the apprehensions of these extremely violent suspects. Two individuals were arrested in the 4900 block of Homerlee in East Chicago and one individual was arrested in the 3200 block of Lupine Drive in Indianapolis, Kellogg stated. The individuals names cannot be released at this time per court order but one suspect is a 23-year-old male, one suspect is a 19-year-old male, and one suspect is a 35-year-old female.
On October 22nd, 2019, at approximately 11:10 PM, Hammond police responded to the 1300 block of Liberty Court in reference to shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located 23-year-old Quinton D. Taylor lying on the ground a short distance from his residence. Mr. Taylor had sustained at least one gunshot wound to the chest and was deceased. On March 27, 2020, The Hammond Police Department presented charges to the Lake County Prosecutor’s Office and all three above individuals were charged with murder. Additional information will be made available when released from the court order, Kellogg said.
Because of the hard work of Hammond police detectives, and the outstanding support of the U.S. Marshal’s Great Lakes Regional Task Force and the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force, these three dangerous individuals have been removed from the streets and await court proceedings. All individuals arrested or charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
