Hammond Police & US Marshals Searching For Murder Suspect

The Hammond Police Department and the United States Marshal’s Service are requesting the public’s assistance in locating a murder suspect.

On November 24, 2019, Steven Todd aka: “GUTTA” allegedly gunned down a 26-year-old female after an altercation outside of Coach’s Corner bar located at 6208 Kennedy Ave. in Hammond, Lt. Steve Kellogg of The Hammond Police said. Court documents state Todd fired a single round through the neck of the victim and she fell to the ground. Todd and another identified individual fled leaving the victim to die. The weapon was not recovered.

The suspect was identified as 32-year-old Steven Maurice Todd. He has visible scars below his left and right eyebrows. Todd has several tattoos including “219”, “Kimberly”, and “Calumet”. Todd has used the alias: “GUTTA”, Kevin Johnson, Maurice, and William Todd. He frequently wears hoodies covering his head. Todd is believed to be armed and extremely dangerous. If anyone has information about Steven Todd, they are advised to call Hammond Police Det. Sgt. Mike Nemcek at (219) 852-2977 for tips or 911 immediately for a known location of Mr. Todd.
