Highland Subway Robbed Late Sunday
On Sunday, December 4, 2022 at approximately 9:34 PM, Highland Police were dispatched to the Subway restaurant at 8227 Kennedy Avenue for a reported robbery that had just taken place, according to Commander John Banasiak.
On arrival, officers spoke with the employees who advised two black males wearing dark sweatshirts with hoods over their heads had entered the restaurant. Each male had a surgical mask over his face and one was wearing plaid pants. One of the males pointed a handgun at one of the employees and ordered her to open the cash register and to then get on the floor, Banasiak stated. One of the suspects then removed an unknown amount of cash from the register and then both suspects fled out the door on foot in an unknown direction. Neither employee was injured during this robbery. A search of the area by police did not locate any suspects.
