Hobart Police Seek Assistance In The Death Of Attorney Case
Hobart Police are asking for help from the public for assistance with identifying the owner of the white pick-up truck shown in the surveillance images. Investigators would like to speak to the owner of the truck in reference to the death investigation involving William T. Enslen.
On June 24, 2021, Hobart Police responded to the 3600 block of West 61st Avenue in Hobart with regard to a possible robbery and a man down. When Officers arrived on scene they found Mr. Enslen on the ground and he was unresponsive; a short time later, Mr. Enslen was pronounced deceased by the Lake County Coroner’s Office.
According to surveillance images from the area of Mr. Enslen’s home, the vehicle shown in the photograph was seen in the area of his home at the time Mr. Enslen arrived home from work, which was approximately 3:15PM. The vehicle is then seen leaving Mr. Enslen’s home at approximately 3:23 PM.
Mr. Enslen was a well-known and well respected Attorney in Northwest Indiana, and we would like to bring closure and justice for Mr. Enslen, his family and friends. The death of Mr. Enslen has created an uneasy feeling with neighbors and residents who live near Mr. Enslen knowing that the person responsible for his death is still roaming around and hasn’t been identified.
Investigators believe that the vehicle shown in the surveillance images is a GMC or Chevrolet (step-side) between the years of 1989 and 1998, but possibly the specific years of the truck could be 1993 to 1995.
This is a unique truck, especially for the year and the style of the truck. If anyone recognizes the truck or may know the owner of the truck, please contact Detective Zachary Crawford at 219-942-4774 or by email:zcrawford@cityofhobart.org or Lieutenant Nicholas Wardrip @ 219-942-4485 or by e-mail: nwardrip@cityofhobart.org
