Illinois State Police Investigating Second Shooting Friday
Illinois State Police (ISP) officials are investigating a shooting, which occurred on Interstate 55 southbound at Throop Street, at approximately 1:55 a.m., on Friday, Feb. 12, 2021.
ISP District Chicago was advised a of reported expressway shooting which occurred at the above location and time. ISP officers responded and determined the driver and sole occupant of the victim vehicle, a 28-year-old male of Chicago, IL did not sustain any injuries.
Preliminary reports indicate the victim was traveling on Interstate 55 southbound near Throop Street when his vehicle was struck by gunfire. The shots were fired from a white SUV also traveling at that location. The events surrounding the shooting remain under investigation and no further information is available at this time.
