Illinois State Police Investigating Shooting On I-94

 Illinois State Police (ISP) officials are investigating a shooting which occurred on Thursday, April 16, 2020, at approximately 11:45 p.m. on the Stony Island Ramp to Interstate 94 northbound.

On April 17, 2020, at approximately 12:08 a.m., ISP officers received information a shooting had occurred at the above location. Shortly after receiving this information, officers responded to a local area hospital after being notified the hospital was treating a walk-in gunshot victim who advised he had been shot on the Stony Island Ramp to Interstate 94 northbound. The gunshot victim, a 24 year old male from Chicago, sustained non-life threatening injuries.

Preliminary information indicates the victim was the driver of a vehicle that was shot at by an unknown vehicle on the Stony Island Ramp to Interstate 94 northbound. The Stony Island Ramp to Interstate 94 northbound was closed at 2:18 a.m. during the investigation; the ramp reopened at approximately 3:20 a.m.  The events surrounding the shooting remain under investigation.
