Infant Severely Injured & Suspect In Custody Police Said
On 10/23/2020, Merrillville Police Officers responded to a call of serious injuries, suffered by an infant under suspicious circumstances, according to Assistant Chief Kosta Nuses of the Merrillville Police. An eyewitness reported to RNS they saw the infant with serious injuries at The Fairbridge Inn on the 8200 block of Louisiana St.
Further investigation led to officers taking a person of interest into custody. The person of interest was subsequently charged. No further information was immediately available. We will update as this investigation continues.
