Lake Station Mayor Bill Carroll Declares Local Emergency

On Monday November 16, 2020 Lake Station Mayor Bill Carroll signed an Executive Order declaring a Local Emergency for the City of Lake Station. “With the rising number of COVID-19 cases around the area, Carroll said it’s prudent that we act early and maintain our lead on this virus.” “We have been ahead of the other communities since the virus first took hold, and as it once again rising in numbers, we need to keep that forward-thinking mindset,” Carroll said.

This Executive Order (2020-05) which goes into effect at 4:30pm Monday, states the following:

Lake Station City Hall will be closed to the public November 16, 2020 till further notice. (Except Emergency Services) For Clerk Treasure Services you may call 219-850-1334 in regards to questions on payments. Any permit or Building Department questions, please direct them to 219-850-1331.

Sewer bill dates will not be subject to late fees until further notice. Payments may be made to the Red Drop Box in front of City Hall, online, or at the drive thru. For sewer or trash questions you may call 219-850-1322

The Mayor added this is a precautionary measure and the only changes are those listed above. There will be no change to trash pick up, Carroll said.
