Hammond, IN
An initial call around 5pm Sunday came in to the Hammond Fire Department for a gun shot victim on the 6500 block of Arkansas. Region News has learned however the victim transported was not shot but assaulted severely leaving him in critical condition at an area hospital. We believe at this time the victim may have fired shots at the assailants during the attack. It’s unclear if any were wounded at this time.
We are currently awaiting a statement from the Hammond Police and will have full update as information becomes available.
