Man Used Dating Apps To Steal From Women

On Monday, October 9th, 2023, Lansing Police Department Investigators conducted a joint operation with Oak Forest PD and the Cook County Forest Preserve Police in apprehending a suspect wanted in several theft cases that took place in multiple jurisdictions, according to Lansing Police.

The suspect, Davon T. Fullilove, 25, of Dolton, IL, would allegedly meet his victims via a dating app and take advantage of the situation to steal items from the victims.

Surveillance was set up in the area of Thornton-Lansing Road and Stoney Island Avenue. Fullilove was seen in the area and then fled on foot when investigators tried stopping him. Fullilove ran into an adjacent field and was taken into custody, without incident, after he was located hiding in the field.

Fullilove was transported to the Lansing Police Department and investigators contacted the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office for felony charges. Fullilove was charged with several felony charges of theft and has multiple outstanding warrants from Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin. He was sent to an Initial Appearance Hearing at the Cook County Sixth Municipal District in Markham, IL.

The Lansing Police Department reminded everyone to be very cautious when meeting individuals through dating websites.
