Missing Cedar Lake Boy Found Safe
On Saturday March 26, 2022 at approximately 7:00 PM, The Cedar
Lake Police Department were called to the 14700 block of Reeder Road
for a missing juvenile, according to Chief William Fisher.
Upon Officers arrival, they were informed that an 8-year-old boy had a disagreement with a parent and was witnessed
running outside of the residence.
The Cedar Lake Police Department, Cedar Lake Fire Department, Schererville Police Department, Lake County Sheriff’s Department and the Indiana Department of Natural Resources began searching the area, Fisher stated.
Multiple K-9 units along with the Lake County Sheriff’s Department Helicopter assisted in the search. Cedar Lake Police and Cedar Lake Fire both utilized their drones searching the heavily wooded area behind the residence.
Approximately 2 hours after the call, the boy was located and found safe. The family was very grateful for the amount of personnel that came to assist. Chief Fisher thanked all of the Officers and Firefighters whom assisted in locating the child.
