Portage Man Charged With Meth Felonies In Cedar Lake

On Monday, March 21, 2022 at approximately 7:07 AM, Cedar Lake Police Officer B. Tomko observed a grey Chevrolet Silverado pickup in the area of 6800 W. 128th Ave in Cedar Lake, according to Deputy Chief Carl Brittingham. This particular area is known for its recent drug activity, Brittingham stated. Officer Tomko observed a license plate violation and made a traffic stop, coming into contact with the driver, Edward C. Zurawski a 35-year-old from Portage, Indiana. Ultimately Edward Zurawski was found in possession of suspected methamphetamine and paraphernalia, along with evidence of dealing in methamphetamine.

Edward Zurawski was lodged in the Lake County Jail and is being charged in the Lake County Superior Court with Dealing in Methamphetamine level 3 felony, Dealing in Methamphetamine level 4 felony, Possession of Methamphetamine level 5 felony, Possession of Methamphetamine level 6 felony, and Possession of Paraphernalia Class C Misdemeanor.

Edward Zurawski has prior arrests in Cook County, Illinois, and Porter County, Indiana for drug- related offenses.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
