Missing Woman Alert
The Gary Police Department is taking jurisdiction over the missing person case of Ariana Taylor. Ariana was last heard from late Saturday night.
Gary Officers were dispatched to a suspicious vehicle on April 3, 2022 where it was discovered a vehicle had left I-65 and crashed below, according to Gary Police Lt. Dawn Westerfield. The Indiana State Police took control of the accident scene and are investigating it as a hit and run, Westerfield stated.
The registered owner of the vehicle stated Ariana Taylor was supposed to be the last person in possession of the vehicle. A foot search by Gary officers and a Gary K-9 was conducted at that time along with air search by the Lake County Sheriff helicopter.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Department took a missing persons report for Ariana on the evening of April 3, 2022 from her residence in their jurisdiction. Ariana Taylor was then reported missing to the Gary Police Department on April 4, 2022. Officer foot searches, K-9 searches, helicopter, ATV and dive searches have been conducted with no results. Area hospitals were contacted, also with no results, Westerfield said.
Ariana Taylor is a 23-year-old female black, approximately 5’6″ tall and 200 pounds. She was last seen wearing a red sweater, ripped blue jeans and gym shoes.
