Munster Police Apprehend Suspects After Fleeing Traffic Stop

At approximately 5:30 pm a Munster Police Officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic infraction, Lt Peirick with the Munster Police told Region News.  Shortly after making contact with the driver, he fled the traffic stop.  The Officer did not pursue the vehicle and saw it had crashed just north of the stop in front of Wendy’s on Calumet hitting multiple cement flower decorative boxes.  All passengers and driver fled on foot across the Target parking lot.  The driver and one passenger where apprehended shortly after. The driver will be charged with Resisting Arrest and the passenger has an active arrest warrant, Peirick stated.  After searching the vehicle Officers also located marijuana.
