Munster Police Chase Auto Theft Suspect Sunday
Munster Police Officers initiated a pursuit of a vehicle with reported stolen plates in Munster Sunday night shortly after 11pm according to a police report. The vehicle struck stop sticks at Calumet Avenue and River Drive and continued into Illinois where the suspect fled on foot from the vehicle.
The suspect was apprehended by officers shortly after with charges pending for allegedly resisting law enforcement, possession of stolen property, and auto theft. The suspect also had an active warrant, police said. The name of the suspect is not released pending those charges.
