No Injuries After Car Goes Into Cedar Lake

Around 1 PM Friday, Cedar Lake Police were dispatched for a vehicle that drove into Cedar Lake with two occupants, according to Cedar Lake Police Chief Bill Fisher.

The incident occurred at Dairy Belle located at 13134 Lake Shore Dr in Cedar Lake. On arrival of officers, the two occupants were already helped out of the submerged car by good samaritans, Fisher said. There were no reported injuries. Chief Fisher thanked the two young men that assisted in pulling the driver and passenger out of the vehicle.

The accident is under investigation however the elderly couple in the car told police it was a brake failure and he was unable to stop.

The car was pulled from the lake utilizing Sunrise Pier and Lift of Cedar Lake and Ray & Wallys with no damage to the lake.
