Officer and Girlfriend Arrested For Domestic Battery
On October 8, 2022, at approximately 1:52 AM, Porter County Sheriff’s Police were dispatched to a residence on Canondale Drive in Liberty Township for a report of a domestic disturbance.
Upon arriving, Officers found probable cause for Domestic Battery (Level 6 Felony). Both parties became physical with each other after both were allegedly drinking, according to statements. A child was asleep in the bedroom during the incident. Both adult subjects involved in the incident were arrested and taken to the Porter County Jail. The female was identified as Grace Gaylord.
The male subject that was arrested was identified as a two year Police Officer at The Porter County Sheriff’s Office. The officer has been identified as Aaron Estrada. The Officer was immediately placed on administrative leave and an internal investigation has begun.
Both Gaylord and Estrada were charged with the following: Domestic Battery in the presence of a minor.
“We are proud of our Officers that responded to this incident and took action with integrity,” Sgt McFalls said. ”The Sheriff’s Office will not tolerate any acts of Domestic Battery.”
