Old Schererville Animal Hospital Fire
Firefighters were fighting a fire at 1034 W Lincoln Hwy in Schererville at the old Schererville Animal Hospital. Fire Departments were dispatched shortly after 8am Monday for smoke and flames coming from the roof of the building according to eyewitnesses. One lane of westbound 30 was closed for emergency vehicles.
As of 9am the fire was struck and crews were cleaning up, according to Deputy Fire Chief David Meyer of The Schererville Fire Department. There was no reported injuries to workers or animals as this building was vacant. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Assisting Schererville Fire Department with mutual aid was Lake Hills Fire, St. John Fire, and Dyer Fire Department.
