One Killed Two Others Injured In Crash Friday
On March 5, 2021 approximately 12:50 PM Gary Police Officers responded to the area of Industrial Highway and Clark Road for crash involving two cars and a semi, according to Lt. Dawn Westerfield.
Preliminary investigations show that a Grand Prix was traveling westbound and crossed left of center striking the semi and then spinning into an Impala. The driver of the Grand Prix crossing the center line was declared deceased on scene, Westerfield stated. Two parties from the Impala sustained serious injuries. The Lake County Coroner has identified the victim as Ershala Allen, 34, of Gary.
The investigation is still ongoing at this time. Lake County Sheriff’s Department will conduct the reconstruction and Indiana DOT will do the mandatory inspection of the semi.
