One Male Shot In Car During Calumet Township Drive- By
Around 6 PM Sunday night a male was driving east on 47th approaching Cleveland when a black Dodge Charger pulled along side the driver and opened fire, Sheriff Oscar Martinez said. An off duty dispatcher was able to pull in front of the victims car and got it to stop to aid the victim.
The suspect vehicle then drove north on Cleveland and east on 45th and then north on Grant St while an off duty Merrillville officer attempted to follow the suspect but lost him.
The suspect in the Dodge Charger was described as a black male with dreadlocks having temporary license plate on the vehicle.
Investigators are still on scene and actively working this case, Martinez said. The victim was transported for injuries to a near by hospital.
