One Shot In Car In Calumet City On Burnham Ave
Calumet City Police are investigating a shooting that occurred on Burnham Ave Monday afternoon around 3:30pm near the cross street of Forest Lane. A black Impala was struck by gunfire injuring one person in the vehicle before crashing into the fence of Holy Cross Cemetery.
We believe the shooting started near River Oaks Dr and continued North down Burnham Ave where evidence markers could be seen on the road. Paramedics took one to a local hospital.
Sources tell Region News this is believed to be a drug transaction gone bad and there is no threat to the public. We have reached out to The Calumet City Police and they have told us they are expecting to have more info on this incident and a possible arrest.
