Police Pursue Stolen Box Truck Across Three States
Hammond Police pursue a stolen box truck overnight leading police to Michigan at the Niles exit where the truck finally came to a stop. (Video link below)
The suspect who was chased from Hammond took police into Illinois down 130th then onto The Bishop Ford south back to Indiana all the way across the state to Michigan. The truck then struck a squad car attempting to box it in. The truck was riding on rims from Lake County to the Niles exit in Michigan at speeds around 60 mph as multiple agencies jumped in to assist Hammond.
Once the truck came to a stop on the exit ramp the driver attempted to bail on foot but was apprehended by officers and Lake Station K9 Dax. The driver was possibly seizing after allegedly swallowing drugs after the foot bail.
Agencies on scene included Porter County, LaPorte County, Lake County, Michigan State Police, ISP, Lake Station, Hammond, Gary, Lake County Aviation, Porter, Tribal Police…..
