Police Seek Info After Two Shot At Park
On August 11, 2022, at approximately 7:55 PM, Hammond Police responded to the 1000 block of Lyons street in reference to a shooting, according to Lt. Steve Kellogg.
Upon arrival, officers located a subject that had been shot multiple times. He was immediately treated by the Hammond Fire Department and then transported to a Chicago area hospital where he stiol remains, Kellogg said. The victims current condition was not available.
Officers located items leading them to believe there were several subjects involved.
A witness nearby said the park was crowded with kids on a nice evening when around 20 shots were heard. “The shooter was just shooting everywhere.”
A crime scene was setup on the east side of Tapper in the park and the west side of Tapper in the park.
A short time later, another victim arrived at a local hospital who was also present on Lyons.
