Portage Bank Robbed Monday
On Monday July 24, 2023 at approximately 2:25 PM, officers of the Portage Police Department responded to the Horizon Bank
located at 2650 Willowcreek Road in reference to an activated panic alarm, according to a Portage press release Tuesday.
Upon arrival it was determined that the bank
had been robbed. Employees reported that an adult white male had entered the bank and presented the teller with a note demanding currency. No direct threats were made, and no weapons were displayed or implied during this incident, police stated.
After obtaining an undisclosed amount of currency the suspect fled the area and was not immediately apprehended. Investigators have since identified the suspect and are following up with leads in an attempt to locate him. After formal charges are filed with the prosecutor’s office the suspect’s identity will be released, police said. Check back to this article for updates.
