Shots Fired In Hampton Apartment Parking Lot
On Saturday, February 4, 2023 at approximately 9:07 PM, Highland Police Officers were dispatched to the parking lot in the Hampton Apartments, in front of 9529 Prairie Avenue, for a report of several gunshots fired, according to Commander John Banasiak.
Upon arrival of officers, nobody was located in the area. Upon officers checking the area, officers found 3 spent shell casings on the ground in the parking lot, Banasiak stated. Officers did an extensive check of the area and did not observe any damaged vehicles nor were there any people that came forward to report any injuries or to say that they witnessed anything.
A check was made at a nearby house with a doorbell camera. Upon viewing that camera, the only distinguishable thing that could be seen were flashes of light in the area where the spent rounds were located. The investigation is still open at this time.
