Small Blower Fire Evacuates Griffith High School
Shortly before noon Thursday, The Griffith Fire Department responded to Griffith High School for a structure fire. On arrival fire crews located a blower motor to an air handler on the roof that had burned up, according to Deputy Fire Chief Don Hill of The Griffith Fire Department.
The kids in school were evacuated and temporarily walked to Beiriger Elementary School for about 30 minutes while crews made sure the building was safe to return. There was no reported injuries and the kids are currently back at the building eating lunch as of 12:45pm, Hill told RNS. Highland Fire Department responded as mutual aid.
