Steger Homicide Investigation Update
On 01/01/2020 around 7:30 AM the Steger Police Department responded to 3602 Chicago Road in reference to a wellbeing check, according to Chief Rossi of The Steger Police. Upon arrival Officers located a 28 year old male, deceased in the residence. Officers secured the scene and awaited Detectives. Officers and Detectives noted the male appeared to have been in a fight based on the scene. The male was identified as Ryan S. Connell, of Steger, Rossi stated.
The Will County Coroner’s Office determined Connell suffered multiple stab wounds, which contributed to his death.
Investigators have taken into custody a person of interest and believe this is an isolated incident.
The investigation is ongoing and is being handled by the Steger Police Department and the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force.
